The pages block are the individual pages within a BU Story. They are parent blocks and can contain additional blocks within them: headings, copy, image, spacer, and buttons. Essentially, the page block is the container for everything within the individual page, but it also comes with unique controls of its own for you to further customize its design and experience.
Page URL
You have the option to link pages to a website URL. This will make a button appear on the bottom of the page prompting the user to learn more (or whatever short, concise call to action you choose). This is helpful if you want to encourage the user to take a specific action (like applying to BU), or to provide additional reading material for an interested user.
Optional. Enter a URL to link the page to. When the page is clicked, the user will be taken to the URL provided.
When a Page URL is added, a button will appear at the bottom of the page with the Call to Action you selected. When clicked, it will take the user to the URL.
Page Audio
Select background audio for this page. The file should be an .mp3 and should be short and compressed to a small file size.
Page Background
Background Image
Select a background image for the page. You can choose an image from your Media Library or upload a new one. To remove an image once it’s selected, simply click the ‘Remove image’ link beneath it in the inspector. If you wish to select a different image, click on the image and you will be able to select or upload media.
Once an image is selected, you will be able to access additional control options:
Opacity
You can also adjust the opacity of the image as needed if you’d like to show some of the background color which will create a subtle wash of color. This can be helpful particularly if an image is very bright.
Background Video
You also have the option of including a background video instead. Note that if you have already selected a background image, you will have to remove it before you can set a background video. Currently, only MyMedia or Vimeo are supported.
Enter the Video ID for the video you want to use. The video must have a 9×16 vertical aspect ratio for an ideal viewing experience.
You can also loop the video if desired, so it will play continuously, which is ideal for short clips.
Note: if a video is looped, the page duration will use the value set in the Duration section instead of the video length.
Background Color
Select a background color for the page, either providing a HEX value or selecting a color.
Background Animation
Background animations are helpful to add some interest to a static image background by creating subtle movement and making it more visually engaging. Select from a dropdown of available animations.
Page Border
Border Weight and Color
Set an optional border weight and select a border color, either providing a HEX value or selecting a color.
Duration
Set the duration of the page in seconds. This is the amount of time before the BU Story will auto-advance to the next page. Note that this duration will be automatically overridden if a background video or audio is assigned to the page, and the page will instead use the duration of the video or audio.
