Digital Strategy
A digital strategist is responsible for the planning and execution of strategy efforts that help clients identify needs and opportunities for their websites during a project’s discovery phase. During these efforts, the digital strategist identifies stakeholder objectives, audience needs, and content requirements through content audits and assessments, interviews, focus groups, qualitative assessments, as well as other primary and secondary research as appropriate. In collaboration with the project team, the strategist translates this background work into strategic recommendations for websites, including a site’s information architecture and content opportunities that will help meet goals for the site. Collaboration with other team members—including designers, developers, analysts, and project and account managers—is key to ensuring that cohesive and feasible recommendations are presented for all projects. Following this, the digital strategist then presents all findings, insights, and recommendations to stakeholders and clients. Strategists remain involved during a project’s implementation phase to consult with the implementation team and sometimes as a content coach.
