  • Starts: 7:00 pm on Thursday, October 9, 2025
  • Ends: 9:00 pm on Thursday, October 9, 2025
Boston University’s Center for Psychiatric Rehabilitation in partnership with Boston University's Student Health Services Counseling & Psychiatric Services, and the CTE Center are pleased to promote the critical importance of mental health wellness as told by Ted Johnson about his journey through the NFL as a player for the Patriots. He endured repetitive head impacts, addiction, and mental health challenges as he found a path to resilience and wellbeing. Ted’s story is inspiring as his path to his mental health wellness was multi-faceted and shines a light on the many ways people can overcome mental health challenges. Ted is now the Wellness Ambassador for Maritime Mental Health which consists of six different mental health clinics focusing on substance abuse and overall mental health. Most recently, Maritime has opened Back Bay Mental Health located at Commonwealth Avenue, right on the BU campus at 975 Commonwealth Avenue. Tonight aims to highlight the truth that mental health matters and is a critical foundation for successful and healthy adulthood. We will hear from the BU CTE Center about the science and mental health consequences of repetitive head impacts, and what University resources are available to all students to assist them to thrive with wellbeing.
