You can add widgets through the customizer by going to <strong>Appearance &gt; Customizer<\/strong>, where you can see a live preview of your widget, or you can do it the old-fashioned way by going to <strong>Appearance &gt; Widgets<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>This theme support widgets on the sidebar of the <a href=\"https:\/\/wpdocs.bu.edu\/cfa\/templates\/default-template\/\">Default<\/a> page.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h3>Widgets supported in this theme<\/h3>\n<h4>Content Navigation<\/h4>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"\/cfa\/files\/2022\/02\/Screen-Shot-2022-02-22-at-3.06.17-PM.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"250\" height=\"420\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-1374\" srcset=\"https:\/\/wpdocs.bu.edu\/cfa\/files\/2022\/02\/Screen-Shot-2022-02-22-at-3.06.17-PM.png 439w, https:\/\/wpdocs.bu.edu\/cfa\/files\/2022\/02\/Screen-Shot-2022-02-22-at-3.06.17-PM-179x300.png 179w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 250px) 100vw, 250px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>This is a sidebar navigation list of your site&#8217;s pages. It&#8217;s best to keep this widget at the top of your sidebar.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Site:<\/strong>\u00a0Will always display the full site navigation, from the very top. <em>Not recommended.<\/em><\/li>\n<li><strong>Section:<\/strong>\u00a0Displays the navigation based on the section you&#8217;re in. This is the most common pattern for secondary navigation on the web.\u00a0<em>Recommended.<\/em><\/li>\n<li><strong>Adaptive:<\/strong> Will adjust the navigation display based on whether the current page has child pages. If it has child pages, the current page will act like the section title, and you will not see any other pages on the same level. If it doesn&#8217;t,\u00a0it will act like a link and you will see pages on the current level in the navigation. This is an especially good option for adding custom callouts on various Pages or Sections, such as application callouts with different links for undergraduates and graduates.
