The word edition<\/em> is used in multiple ways in Prepress.<\/p>\n

    \n
  1. There is a taxonomy called Editions within the Edition post type that is used to tag articles.<\/li>\n
  2. There is a post type called an Edition that is similar to a landing page except it can be associated with a Publication.<\/li>\n
  3. There is a page template called an Edition Homepage Template that is used as a blank wrapper for Edition posts.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    These three things all work together to create an issue of CFA Magazine<\/em>.<\/p>\n

    Creating an Issue of CFA Magazine<\/em><\/h4>\n
      \n
    1. Create an Edition term for the issue you are working on.\n
        \n
      1. In the backend of WordPress, go to Editions > Editions.<\/li>\n
      2. Create an Edition term for the issue, for example Fall 2022<\/em>. Be sure to make it a child term of Magazine.<\/li>\n
      3. As you add articles that belong to this issue, tag them with the Fall 2022<\/em> Edition term.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n
      4. Create an Edition post to serve as the landing page for the issue.\n
          \n
        1. In the backend of WordPress, go to CFA Magazine > Editions.<\/li>\n
        2. Create an Edition post with the name of the issue, Fall 2022<\/em>.<\/li>\n
        3. Add all the components to the page that you would like displayed; Banner, Current Issue component, Collections component, Small Promos component, Social Media component, etc.<\/li>\n
        4. In the Publication meta box, be sure CFA Magazine is selected.<\/li>\n
        5. Save as a draft, schedule for a future date, or publish the post immediately.<\/li>\n
        6. Once the Edition post is live, the Publication Homepage<\/a> will automatically update to display the newest Edition post for the publication.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n
        7. Create an Edition Homepage Template for the issue.\n
            \n
          1. In the backend of WordPress, go to Pages > Add New.<\/li>\n
          2. Create a page with the name of the issue, Fall 2022.<\/em><\/li>\n
          3. Under Page Template, choose Edition Homepage Template.<\/li>\n
          4. Under Placement in Navigation, select Move Page and move the page so it is a child page of the Issues Archive<\/a> page in the Navigation.<\/li>\n
          5. Under Featured Image, attach the cover image of the issue. The image must be 575×697 pixels.<\/span><\/strong><\/em><\/li>\n
          6. Under Publication, select Magazine.<\/li>\n
          7. Save the page as a draft.<\/li>\n
          8. Once the page is saved, you should see a Publish Edition meta box.<\/li>\n
          9. From the dropdown, select the Edition post you would like to pull into the page, Fall 2022<\/em>.<\/li>\n
          10. You can add a short description for the issue if there is one.<\/li>\n
          11. If this issue of the magazine lives outside of this website, you can add a link to the external site under the “Edition Static URL” field.<\/span><\/li>\n
          12. You can also add a link to a PDF of the issue if there is one.<\/li>\n
          13. Save as a draft, schedule for a future date, or publish the page immediately.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
