Curation

There are several methods of choosing how and when content will show on a page. This is called curation, and it often comes up when building custom themes.

  • Manual curation allows you to manually enter the content you wish to show on a page. For example, in BU Landing Pages, you manually curate promo boxes by adding the image, title, description, and link directly to the promo box. Manually curated items do not pull data from other pages in the website or other services. This option has the most control but is also more difficult to maintain.
  • Featured curation allows you to choose content on your website to be featured. The data from that content is automatically shown on the front end, without you having to manually add it in. Featured curation is a good blend between the ease of use of automatic curation and the control of manual curation.
  • Automatic curation automatically shows the most recent content from a set of content on your website. It is the easiest method of curation but also has the least control. News and events feeds are a common example of automatic curation. This option works best for content that is published frequently and regularly.
