Front End
The front end is what your visitors see and interact with when they come to your website, such as bu.edu. It is the portion of your website that is visible to users—typically described as your “live site.” In comparison, the back end is the portion of your site that controls settings, content, and what appears on the front end. When you work with our development team, you’ll typically hear of two types of developers: a frontend developer and a backend developer. These developers specialize in creating the frontend (design, user-facing) portion of the site and the backend (content, functionality, administrative-facing) portion of your site.
