The Screen Options allow you to choose which dashboard metab...An excerpt is a condensed description of your content—usually 3 or so sentences—and refers to the summary entered in the Excerpt field when editing a page or post. Excerpts are used to briefly describe your content in RSS feeds, in search results, and in lists of pages and posts. If the excerpt is empty, WordPress will automatically display the first 55 words of the post‘s content. Learn more about editing the excerpt in the official WordPress documentation.
